SUMMARY:Del Dicho al Hecho Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Del Dicho al Hecho explores the intersection of textile heritag
e\, visual art\, and popular wisdom through a series of artistically inter
vened rebozos by Oaxacan artist Luis Rosado Montes. These traditional text
iles\, woven on backstrap looms using ancestral Zapotec techniques\, are o
verlaid with imagery inspired by Mexican sayings and proverbs. The exhibit
ion invites viewers to consider how traditional objects can be reinterpret
ed as living cultural documents where memory\, language\, and identity con
verge. It also reflects on the experience of migration and cultural contin
uity as traditions evolve in new contexts.
